Officers Installed & Award Winners Named

Peter T. Hofstra, Esq., is the new Mr. Seminole

It was an evening to remember by 125 Seminole Chamber of Commerce members and guests, gathered at the Wine Cellar for the annual Installation & Awards Banquet. Ken Burke, Clerk of the Circuit Courts, served as Master of Ceremonies and did the honors of inducting the Chamber Board for 2010.

New to the Board of Directors 2010 are Gary Scarsbrook, Lavern Welchand and John Wolbert. They are joining David Bates, Dan Berard, Marianne Fisher, Nancy Giles, Mike McQuilkin (President-Elect), Dr. Jim Olliver (Treasurer), Jackie Tatsak (President), Jacob Valintine and Paul Ziegler (Immediate Past President).

Leaving the Board are Doc Kinsey, Bob Holtzman and Steve Zazzaro - we appreciate their years of service. 

Recipients of last year’s awards presented plaques to their successors: “Boss of the Year” - Maria Vasiliadis, owner of Hometown Family Restaurant; “Business of the Year” - St. Petersburg College, Seminole Campus represented by Dr. Jim Olliver, Provost; “Merit Award” - Dan Berard, Uncle Bob’s Self-Storage and  the Chamber’s most prestigious award of Mr. Seminole to Peter T. Hofstra, partner of DeLoach & Hofstra, PA, Seminole law firm.

Entertainment included music by vocalist Julie Hansen and a slide show of photos from 2009 and past Mr/Ms Seminoles by Dan Berard and Gretchen Cain Wells.
